Description

A 1986 limited edition collector plate titled 'Learning Is Fun' by artist John McClelland. This is the fourth issue in the 'Becky's Day' series. Manufactured by the historic Edwin M. Knowles China Company for Reco International. Plate No. 323. Features a unique Bradex number (84-R60-10.4) and was limited to a 90-day firing period. Includes a printed quote and signature by the artist on the reverse.

Key Features

Low plate number (#323); official Bradex listing; reputable artist (John McClelland); nostalgic 1980s Americana aesthetic; historical maker (Edwin M. Knowles).

Authenticity Indicators

Highly authentic. Backstamp includes official Reco and Knowles logos, Bradex number, and hand-numbered plate sequence. Confidence: High.

Flaws to Note

Secondary market for 1980s collector plates is currently saturated, which suppresses value. Scratches on the front illustration (not pictured) would further reduce value to 'decorative use only' status.

Selling Guide

Where to Sell

eBay (best for reaching niche collectors), Etsy (if marketed as 'vintage decor'), or local Flea Markets/Antique Malls.

Selling Tips

Market as a gift for teachers or for nursery decor rather than a 'high-value investment.' Use keywords like 'Vintage 1986,' 'Nursery Decor,' and 'Teacher Gift.' If you have the Original Box and Certificate of Authenticity (COA), mention them prominently to reach the $15 top-end price.
