Description
Authentic vintage Pokémon Magnemite card from the 1999 Base Set. This is the highly desirable 'Shadowless' version, characterized by the absence of a drop shadow to the right of the character art box and thinner text fonts. Card number 53/102, illustrated by Keiji Kinebuchi. Features moves Thunder Wave and Selfdestruct.
Key Features
Shadowless variant is significantly rarer than Unlimited Base Set. High nostalgia factor. Excellent entry-level piece for vintage collectors.
Authenticity Indicators
Correct 1995, 96, 98, 99 Wizards copyright date; thin HP font typical of Shadowless cards; no shadow on art box; light-blue back coloring is correct. Confidence level: High.
Flaws to Note
Minor corner wear (whitening) visible on the back edges through the sleeve. Slight off-centering toward the right border. These factors prevent a 'Gem Mint 10' grading but remain collector-quality.
Selling Guide
Where to Sell
eBay (best for reaching global collectors), TCGPlayer (market standard for individual cards), or Mercari.
Selling Tips
Use keywords 'Shadowless', 'WOTC', and 'Vintage' in the title. Take high-resolution photos of the back of the card outside of the sleeve to show edge condition. Ship in a penny sleeve inside a top loader protected by cardboard to prevent bending.
