Description

Magnificent collection of vintage Pickard China featuring the famous 'All-Over Gold' (AOG) pattern. Includes a large oval platter, round handled tray, candy dish, pedestal compote bowl, two cream and sugar sets, and multiple salt/pepper shakers. Each piece is hand-decorated with high-polish 22K gold over a textured, etched base. The interior of the compote remains white porcelain, highlighting the contrast of the gold exterior. Typical of the 'Chicago Era' of American hand-painted china.

Key Features

22K Gold encrustation, renowned American maker, Art Deco and Mid-Century appeal, complete cream/sugar sets, rare etched floral patterns within the gold.

Authenticity Indicators

Look for the 'Pickard China' stamp with a gold leaf or circular lion mark on the base. The weight and 'cold' feel of real gold are present. Confidence: High.

Flaws to Note

One creamer shows significant dark staining/tarnish near the base indicating a possible repair or high-heat exposure; some minor surface scratches consistent with age; salt shakers often have cork rot inside.

Selling Guide

Where to Sell

Etsy for the vintage aesthetic, eBay for the broad collector base, or Chairish for high-end interior design buyers.

Selling Tips

Photograph in natural light to show the gold lustre without harsh flash reflections. Use keywords: 22K Gold, Encrusted, Etched, Pickard, Hollywood Regency, Maximalist. Ship with double-boxing as these are fragile porcelain. Sell the large platter individually and group the cream/sugar sets for higher total profit.
